Attractive eBay package includes competitive salary, healthcare plan & quarterly bonus

27 August 2019: eBay is set to bring jobs directly to Ireland’s North West as it seeks out new talent for its eBay@Home programme. The global market site has partnered with IDA Ireland to bring further employment to the region and will visit The Building Block in Sligo on September 5th for an information roadshow.

The eBay@Home roadshow will provide an opportunity for interested applicants in Sligo and the surrounding counties to find out more about working remotely for eBay as part of the company’s dedicated customer support team for UK and Irish sellers and buyers.

eBay customer service employees are offered a very attractive employment package with a basic salary of €28,500 as well as quarterly bonuses for reaching key targets. Other benefits include working from home, health care, educational assistance, pension, life assurance, and employee discounts.

Those attending the roadshow will learn more about the company’s recruitment process and will have the opportunity to talk to eBay customer service staff about the day-to-day role and its benefits.

Hazel Mitchell, Site Leader of eBay Ireland said: “We are inviting anyone in the region who is interested in working for an innovative market leader like eBay to come and join us at the roadshow and explore the exciting opportunities that await. Given the advances in technology, location should not restrict career opportunities. Our eBay@Home programme launched in Ireland in 2017 and now has over a hundred teammates located nationwide.”

“With the outstanding support of the IDA, we are excited to expand the eBay@Home programme over the coming months and see regions outside Dublin as key to growing our talent pool. The availability of a skilled workforce and direct access to required services and infrastructure make the North West the ideal location for our recruitment drive.”

Denis Curran, Head of Regional Development at IDA Ireland said:

“Many of our FDI client base are implementing new and innovative approaches to scaling their operations by accessing talent and skills across all of Ireland’s regions. Remote working initiatives increase the talent pool for client companies while creating career opportunities for people living in the regions. We are delighted to be partnering with eBay on their @Home working programme. eBay has created over 100 jobs throughout Ireland’s regions via the programme and we wish eBay every success for their next phase of recruitment.”

Heather Humphreys, Minister for Business, Enterprise, and Innovation said: “I welcome this initiative by eBay to engage with people locally in Sligo and the wider North West Region to help them explore the home working initiatives this global company offers.  The remote and home working model is proving extremely popular, allowing people to avail of job opportunities outside of large urban centres. That’s why the Government is developing new policy in the area under Future Jobs Ireland. We want to create a situation where all regions are enabled to realise their potential as contributors to economic recovery and growth. Remote working is an excellent way of enabling people to work more flexibly and therefore increase the amount of people in employment across all regions.”
